Tidebound Press was born from the belief that stories, like tides, arrive with quiet force. Founded in Maryland, Tidebound Press is a publisher devoted to stories and the local authors who shape them. We’re here to publish edgy, boundary-blurring fiction and to do it in a way that protects and values the writers behind the work. Every part of what we do is rooted in community. From the authors, editors and artists we collaborate with to the events, venues, and supporters who help bring these stories to life.

We believe authors deserve: Professional publication and traditional publishing credit. Fair compensation. Thoughtful editing and design.

Our model is simple: Writers bring the story. We bring the infrastructure, investment, and long-term stewardship.

We handle production, distribution, and marketing so our contributors can focus on what they do best—writing.

We specialize in: Anthologies. Short story collections. Fiction that leans into mood, place, and emotional depth.

Why Tidebound? Because small presses can do what larger houses often cannot: move with intention. We curate carefully. We edit collaboratively. We design with atmosphere in mind. Each project is built with long-term integrity rather than seasonal trend cycles.

For authors and contributors, this means: No upfront financial burden. No hybrid cost-sharing structures. No hidden fees. A publisher invested in the book’s success. For readers, it means books that feel considered, crafted rather than manufactured.

Our Promise: We will not rush what deserves time. We will not publish what we do not believe in. We will not treat stories as disposable. We are here for work that leaves a mark. Tidebound Press stands at the edge of the water where stories gather, voices rise, and something lasting begins.
